Yes they have solid records and I’m not trying to discredit any fighters, but the older generations fought a much more unprotected schedule.

The schedule that most guys from the current era follow is:
Fight 18-20 no hope tomato cans to have an undefeated record.

Get on tv undercards against cherrypicks, usually another green, outgunned opponent, or some old faded name

Get to about 22-0, then look around at the 20 major/minor title belts and see which is vacant or has a weak champ

Once they have a fake title, they slow activity to 1 maybe 2 fights a year.

Will take at least 2-3 cherrypick defenses over the span of 20 months.

Then when the fighter is 28-0, he may actually get a big challenging fight if paid a huge amount.

Then the fighter gets beaten as is “exposed” or wins and is quickly labeled “great”

I miss the days of young donald curry, marlon, Norris, McCollum, Jackson, etc..

You and me both, man. There's still the occasional boxer who is a true fighter and shows some balls. Like Sergey Kovalev.

How about naming some world champions from the current era, who were fed nothing but tomato cans - until they reached an undefeated 20-0 record.

In at least half of their first 20 fights, all 4 met opponents with winning records... so no, they didn't feast exclusively on tomato cans.

If you want to see world champions with MUCH easier starts to their careers, you have to study the records of boxers from "the good old days" - where lots and lots of future champions had much "softer" beginnings.

Take for example Hall of Famer Pascual Perez:

Not just the start, but his entire career looks like a joke! Could we even imagine something as ridiculous as that going on today?

Is that really all you have to say? Are you not even the least bit interested in a serious discussion?
