Why was the world title belt split to many

before it was just world heavyweight camp or world weilterweight champ

now its like ***in like ibf champ for weilterweight. ibf champ for light heavy..or web or wbo or wba or ibo

    ***in confusing..

Because boxing has become an all money grabbing sport and different organisations means more sanctioning fees. I would personally pay money to see just one world champion per weight division.

yes, i would so much rather there be one champion..however some fighters would find it hard to get a world title shot...

Look at the welterweights...if mayweather was undisputed champion..he woud have to fight...in the space of 4 years..

Hatton, judah, cotto, maybe castillo, margarito, gatti, urkal, mosley, boldimir, collazo..etc....

I dont think it could be done, no matter how good the fighter is...

pluss i like the fact a boxer who wants to prove himself would fight other champions...

I think thats better than all the guys who don't deserve a title shot getting ones. There are just so many titles these days that they are devalued and almost worthless. Does anybody know or care who the WBU straw weight champ is?

Too many sanctioning bodies and too many weight divisions are killing the sport that I love.... that and pay per view and Don King.

Well thats fair enough but all the weight divisions would benefit from one champ.

AT FIRST IT STARTED with promoters that thought their over seas fighters were not given enough title shots .i think it was IBF would rank latin fighters "fair" along side fighters from around the world...later on came the WBO rankings which was made so european fighters would get a "fair" shot ......so on and so on

like everything does, it has its advantages and its disadvanatages. But i would like to see it turned back to just 1 belt for each division because people aren't as bothered anymore when they win a title.
