I know Oscar came through with a big final round but I thought he still lost that fight.

This is exactly how I saw it, the commentators went crazy with how De La Hoya dominated the last round and knocked Quartey down but I thought he did enough in the rest of the rounds to pull it out. I would've liked to see a rematch as it was a very, very entertaining fight, one of Oscar's best fights for sure.

How did you see those other fights? I had him.

Losing against - Sturm, Quartey, Whitaker - All wins on his record. Although I admit Quartey was very close & the Whitaker fight was a coin-flip & could've gone either way. Neither was a robbery. Winning against - Mosley (2nd fight) and Trinidad (he did run the last few rounds but clearly won most of the all the other ones). I think these were clear wins for him he really should have won.

Whitaker was very close fight i want go for it now ,but i agree on rest ,he lost to ike and Sturm ,Won with Trinidad and Mosley 2nd ,this was all big fights ,imo his record would be better with Trinidad and Mosley wins and with Ike sturm loses.

It wasn't that much of a war imo, besides the 6th and 12th rounds.
Anyway, it was a really good tactical fight, probably the best battle of jabs in boxing history and a really close fight.
IMO it could have gone either way, Quartey seems to be a little forgotten when you compare him to Vargas, Oscar and Tito, you can say the same for Winky, very underrated fighters.

Winky was too damn effective, he maybe wasn't really exciting and his defensive style didn't possessed the special effects of Whitaker or Mayweather, but he was a master of the basics.
Azumah and Quartey, both from Ghana, are quite forgotten, which is a shame considering that they faced all the top guys they could, i mean, Azumah gave Salvador Sanchez his toughest fight as a last minute replacement with something around 15 fights.
