Would Willis get better of Dempsey

Hard to say, isn't it? There is not much Wills on film. He did look rather slow to me from what I saw, but a real specimen. Langford was young enough to beat him in their early fights, so Wills was beatable by a man the height of Duran. I think Harry was 6'3". Dempsey is listed as 6'2'.

        Do you mean Harry Wills?

Dempsey actually signed to fight Wills, but wasn't paid beforehand by Rickard which was agreed between the fighters as Wills was black so the fight didn't go ahead and he fought Tunney instead.

Theres a video on youtube of Wills and Dempsey signing a contract to fight, the advance for Dempsey never cleared. Wills was then offered a fight with Tunney for $250,000, Wills turned it down and Tunney went on to get the shot (obviously) and Wills went on to fight Sharkey and started to decline.

If Dempsey avoided anyone it was Langford, Dempsey went on record to say Langford was the best fighter America had at the time.

Greb and Dempsey used to train together and help each other get ready for fights. Greb actually headbutted Dempsey during sparring once so hard that he split his tongue. There is a website that goes through all the newspaper articles in the 1920's about all Greb and Dempseys encounters. 2000 people turned up to watch a 3 round sparring session between the two, of which the general consensus is Greb lost.

They also sparred in Atlantic City for four rounds in 16 oz gloves and Greb was meant to have beaten Dempsey up in Dempsey early stage training camp pretty badly. Newspapers went with the headline "GREB MAKES DEMPSEY LOOK LIKE A KITTEN"

We know that sparring is not real fight doe, there is lots of storys about Greb, one time after his fight with Walker they met in the bar ,Walker told Greb that he was lucky to win ,Harry got mad and started to put jacket off but he had problem with takeing hands out of a jacket so Walker planted him back in his sit .Greb was crazy.

Yes, there are lots of stories, not just about Greb but about lots of fighters... and not all of them are true. Like the "16th round" between Greb and Walker after their actual fight. It's a good story, but it never happened!

The "16th round" myth comes up from time to time - but it is just that, a myth. That has been debunked so many times! Try googling "Greb Walker street fight myth" or something like that.

As for when they tried to steal Greb's car... are you referring to the tall tale of the 4 robbers who blocked the road, when Greb was on his way to one of his fights? Where Greb calmly stepped out of the car, flattened all 4... and then drove on to the next town, where he (of course!) scored his 5th ko that night?

Great stories... that should be taken with a pinch of salt!
