Both were great fights. I remember I recorded them I made extra copies of both those fights for my brother because I thought he had to see them. I would favor Carbajal-Gonzalez but Fan-man was an even in itself.

There probably wasn't any fight that could beat Holyfield-Bowe II that year. It was great action between the division's best with a huge audience and did not fail to impress as a fight. Beyond that, the parachute guy just made it more of an event.

However, the one fight that did beat it was Carbajal-Gonzalez. Those two little big men went at each other tooth and nail I a blistering slugfest with Gonzalez getting the better of his man until Carbajal turned the tide and knocked him out. It was just unreal. Every time I watch it, I still feel the same thrill as all those years ago. Heavyweights often make millions, but back in those days for two flyweights to make a million was unheard of and still is today for the most part. Those two guys put on such a fight as to garner those high purses which says a lot.

Both were excellent and '93 was a solid year, but in the end, Carbajal-Gonzalez won hands down.
