Hi,
I'm looking for a Boxing Club called (possibly) The Mild May Club.
This Club is/was in London, probably around the Hackney area. The reason i'm after ANY info, is because my Great Grandfather used to box with this club, perhaps winning some titles. The name I'm after is Albert Harkness Oates and the era would be around the 1884 mark, which is when he married, but I know he was boxing at this time, so it would be one of the earliest legal clubs.
If anyone knows anything about the Club (is it still running/changed its name?) or, can give me any information on Albert, then you would make me a happy bunny.
Thanks for you time.
