Whats your views about controversial decisions?

It's not fair in any sports that due to a single controversial decision, the whole match turn out into opponent favor. However we will discuss here some of the controversial decisions in boxing history.

    1) Sugar Ray Leonard and Tommy Hearns Draw, 1989

    2) Oscar De La Hoya Defeats Pernell Whitaker, 1997

    3) Joe Louis Defeats Jersey Joe Walcott, 1947

    4) Floyd Mayweather Defeats Jose Luis Castillo, 2002

    5) Pernell Whitaker and Julio Cesar Chavez Draw, 1993

    6) Timothy Bradley Defeats Manny Pacquiao, 2012

Now what your views on these decisions. You can also share the most controversial decisions in your view.

) Sugar Ray Leonard and Tommy Hearns Draw, 1989 False

    2) Oscar De La Hoya Defeats Pernell Whitaker, 1997 Undetermined

    3) Joe Louis Defeats Jersey Joe Walcott, 1947 False

    4) Floyd Mayweather Defeats Jose Luis Castillo, 2002 True

    5) Pernell Whitaker and Julio Cesar Chavez Draw, 1993 False

    6) Timothy Bradley Defeats Manny Pacquiao, 2012 False

Number three is one of the great robberies in boxing history. There is really nothing controversial about it. In retrospect it was pure larceny. The reactions of Walcott's cornermen are classic grabbing the forehead in disbelief.

1 I can see a draw,,, Hearns didnt win many rounds, he just had the knockdowns.. It was 115-113 leonard but knockdowns make it 113-113

2.. Never understood the debate on this,, Oscar clearly won 116-112, pernell did hardly nothing for long stretches of the fight..

      3. Never seen it so I dont have a legitimate opinion either way

      4. Floyd clearly beat castillo,, fac still rallied in the 2nd half, but floyd took all the early rds

      5. Pernell won.. Robbery

      6. Manny clearly won 117-109... Robbery

My view is that they should be reviewed and investigated extensively and then overturned.

          1) Hearns won. He said he did. LEONARD said he won.

          2) Don't see the controversy. Clear De La Hoya win. In his mind, Whitaker never lost. In reality, he did.

          3) Total robbery. Louis himself apologized. Jersey Joe never got anything easily.

          4) Castillo won, no doubt about it.

          5) Whitaker outhustled him. Boring ass fight, but Whitaker won.

          6) Pac won that hands down. Don't know why the judges were set against him that night.

              1) Sugar Ray Leonard and Tommy Hearns Draw, 1989
I think I had it for Hearns although it is a long time since i've seen it but it was close enough that a draw wasn't totally unreasonable.

              2) Oscar De La Hoya Defeats Pernell Whitaker, 1997
Maybe the most difficult fight to score I have ever seen, I think anything from 118-110 Whitaker to 118-110 De La Hoya is reasonable, that is how weird a fight this was. Personally, I thought Whitaker won.

              3) Joe Louis Defeats Jersey Joe Walcott, 1947
There are only highlights of this fight so I can't say whether it was definitely bad or not although the majority opinion at the time was that Walcott won it.

              4) Floyd Mayweather Defeats Jose Luis Castillo, 2002
I always score it a draw but if I had to pick who may have edged it then i'd lean towards Castillo but it was a close fight so not really controversial to me.

              5) Pernell Whitaker and Julio Cesar Chavez Draw, 1993
This was a bad one for sure. Even though Whitaker didn't dominate as much as his fanboys claim he did there is no doubt he clearly won this fight.

              6) Timothy Bradley Defeats Manny Pacquiao, 2012
Closer than the always terrible HBO team had it but certainly a clear Pacquiao win, bad decision.

Haven't watched this fight in a long time, but I felt like Hearns won.

                2) Oscar De La Hoya Defeats Pernell Whitaker, 1997
Felt like Whitaker clearly won, but I haven't watched this fight in awhile & I've heard some compelling arguments that it was close since then.

                3) Joe Louis Defeats Jersey Joe Walcott, 1947
I don't think I've ever actually scored this fight to have a very passionate opinion.

                4) Floyd Mayweather Defeats Jose Luis Castillo, 2002
I had this fight a draw & felt it was close enough to be either fighter or a draw.

                5) Pernell Whitaker and Julio Cesar Chavez Draw, 1993
Definitely feel Whitaker deserved a decision.

                6) Timothy Bradley Defeats Manny Pacquiao, 2012
Definitely feel Pacquiao deserved the decision. I kinda feel like Pacquiao fought/looked bad in this fight & thats what the judges scored more than the facts which including Pacquiao looking very un-Pac-like, but still winning.

For the most part I think close decisions or draws should cause less drama then they do, but I understand. The scoring system in boxing is one of the most subjective in sports & I believe its flawed with 10-8 & 10-10 rounds seldom being used thus winning a decisive round without a knockdown & winning a close round are basically the same thing which is not a sentiment felt by most fans. With that being the reality boxing is bound to have many decisions that leave fans upset & fighters feeling robbed.
