HOW do you KNOW that Louis hit very hard as compared to a MODERN HW? Or Marciano for that matter?

          What is the EVIDENCE?

There is plenty of evidence against.. Like weight. Weight of opponents, Bumminess of opponents. The fact they don't LOOK like they hit 1/2 as hard, etc, etc...

          You also mentioned gloves...

When Marciano and Louis fought the gloves were SMALLER and hence it was much EASIER to score a KO by comparison.

The fact boxers today wear larger gloves in fact is a FURTHER testament to their increased power.

You have taken a postitive feature and spun it negatively as usual.

Jean Marc Mormeck hit harder than both Louis and Marciano..

In fact there can be no DOUBT that Mormeck was a harder puncher.

But we don't even CONSIDER him to have HW power today.

You also speak about how training modes are different to suit a different style of game. Again, how does this apply to punch power? A boxer either hits harder of not!

Too many holes in that post Bill...

You exposed yourself as a fool.

And your myth has been busted!
          Some good questions:

We know a lot about fighters from Louis' generation because the trainers, some of whom were alive in recent times even were around and could therefore give a personal recollection of various fighters and their abilities. There is also an appeal to form...For example, if one watches Deontay Wilder last night...against a relatively non threatening opponent, there is a slo mo of a combination he throws, a jab followed with a straight right. The form and reaction show the power of the punch. In this case the opponent does not so much even matter. A trained boxing analyst can see the things that make a hit hard on film and in training.

Then there is forensic evidence. Marciano's opponents were sore all over the next day, proof of blunt force trauma. Even if we, for the sake of debate, assume that opposition was lacking, one can still determine the efficacy of a punch. Also keep in mind that one cannot train a chin, at least to a big degree, and a strong punch will generally produce KO's. Again the level of opposition non withstanding. And...there is no proof competition was lacking in older times....lets keep that in mind here.

Elroy when you say they "don't look like they hit as hard" you obviously do not know what to look for and you are trusting very basic skill sets. People who seem to have sense will say to another rational being (like my german shepphard Mutt who is very rational!) that they know the earth is flat because they can see a horizon event that should be many miles away with the curvature of the Earth, do you know how silly that statement is?!

First off refraction, the path and way light travels, just to start with.... That is trusting very basic sensory level information that is not accurate.

Smaller gloves do not translate as easy ko's. You have to punch with better form for one thing, or you break a hand. Also you cannot punch the same way with big gloves so the comparison is invalid. For example, if you were to get into a rowe with a Wing Chun man, his punch would be to the tip of your mandible process, the chin, which would jog the brain and put you out...and size would be irrelevant in so far as the efficacy of the actual punch. put gloves on that man's hands and he is helpless. The power does not transition in this type of punch. Boxers swing more with bigger gloves because one needs more movement than with smaller gloves.

This is why we rotate the jab. Before this strike was a lead and was done with no pronation of the hand. its just an adaptation. Juggy's post mentions some different factors encountered...parry technique changes, the angle of the punches change, etc. This is also why real strikers who practice traditional martial arts do not do well in a ring. I am trained to hit your plexis with one or two knuckles because less area = more force on the target area. With gloves all my training has to change and be modified because I can o longer punch precisely as I do with a bare hand. I could show you a punch done with the one foward knuckle to certain targets.

Im not going to put Juggy on the spot but i doubt he would agree that Mormeck hits anywhere near as hard as Louis, probably marciano as well. Your a fool if you believe that.

Even if Ray Corso did the things you said he did, how would we know he is you? The only way I would believe that your name is Ray Corso is if you provide a picture of your photo ID (just your name/picture I don't care about address or other information). Then provide a reliable source that proves you were relevant in boxing in any way.

This will be a never ending question and one ray knows he cant lose b/c he took a time off a bit and then someone else had to validate him....I can tell you one thing...if I was a anything known trainer I would have pics.....we'll leaver it at that....not that i cant ive helped pro fighters before and even amateurs as anyone can claim the difference is pll on here have actually SEEn me....Ray? Ha ha....i'll leave it at that...and that's not saying he didn't train anyone...its the extent to what hes done that he cant prove b/c he knows it a LIE the same LIE that he accuses other guys on the site without proof...figure it out...lol

Im pretty sure my toughman wins as a younger guy *****s anything hes ever done himself PHYSICALLY...and i wasn't even a boxer then or trained boxing!
