Wanted to put this H2H Match up in the history sections.

What do you guys think would happen. Vote please.

I got Foreman in a slug fest. Want to see if historian posters agree.

I think foreman would have overpowered liston with a mid round kayo. liston was a beast but foreman was a damn monster

Question, when would you say George Foreman's prime years were?
I'm assuming It might be when he dismantled poor Joe Frazier.

It's a hard one to say who'd win out of those two, I'd really need to go back and watch more of Sonny Liston for me to give my answer.

Made my decision, I've picked Sonny Liston and I have my reasons for believing he'd beat George in whatever years you'd consider to be Georges prime.

The reason being there are a lot of question marks over Sonny Listons entire career, we don't know how good he would have been if he never had blatantly obvious ties to the mob the fact both Muhammad Ali fights were very su****ious.

Then other notable factors being that George Foreman did receive some training from Sonny Liston via sparring and whatever else and also we can go onto saying that we have a definitive answer to what Sonny Liston's prime years looked like he was an absolute mauler with a good physical presence to the ring a great jab and someone who was good at mixing it up on the inside.

Problem for George Foreman is when was his prime... He did suffer losses to guys like Jimmy Young being comprehensively outboxed and dropped by a fairly light-handed fighter like him.
So I say Sonny Liston either TKO's him or wins via UD.

he was badly dehydrated against young and dead exhausted when ali stopped him. it was really the slick movers that troubled george the most. liston would have went toe to toe with geroge imo and I think there's very very few fighters that could beat a prime foreman that way. thats not to say liston hadnt a chance but I still think foreman would have got him out of there by mid rounds

I cannot see anyone that trades with Foreman ever winning.

People often forget (or don't realize) that Foreman was beating Young pretty badly before he gassed out mid fight.

Liston was no doubt in my mind, the better boxer. If he would of even tried to brawl with foreman like he did against williams I think foreman would of gotten him...it'd be a great fight though with foreman taking some knockdowns too.

I dunno, just for me I look at Sonny Liston as overall a better fighter than George Foreman and you'll probably disagree but I think he is the stronger of the two when fighting on the inside.

reach is similar and foreman had more snap in his jab. I think it comes simply to whos the bigger beast and that's foreman hands down, I think it will be a 4-6 round fight. Foremans bigger, more agressive, both could knock each other out but foreman will be more determined to get up and finish the job.
