90s was almost as good or better than 70s but the division was moving along so fast. A lot of great heavyweights who were only a factor for a short time or in different time periods. What I mean is, if all the heavyweights of the 90s had around the same prime years from the early 90s onwards, we may have seen the best depth ever in the HW division.

90s had the most depth and talent especially 90-97, even more so than the 70s IMO, but the guys hardly fought each other unlike the 70s where everyone fought each other..

          Early to mid 90s had
          Holyfield
          Tyson
          Bowe Lewis
          Mercer
          Ruddock
          Morrison
          Foreman
          Holmes
          Moorer
          Bruno

And then throw in guys like tua, Rahman, Golata, Ike, young klitchkos, herbie Hyde, Gomez, etc

Too bad a lot of fights didn't get made in the 90s,,,
          Tyson-Holyfield in 90
          Tyson foreman
          Foreman Holmes
          Bowe Lennox
          Lennox Holyfield mid 90s
          Lennox Tyson mid 90s
          Moorer Golata
          Tyson Morrison
          Tyson mercer
          Ruddock holyfield
Just tons of good fights that never got made

The 90s did. The Klitschko's were even beginning to surface in the 90s.

the 70s and 90s. 70s maybe bit better quality fighters at the very top, 90s maybe bit more quality with the contenders, jmo.

Where the fck did all these dudes go? fck its a shame how so many talented athletes in America once took up the gloves and fought, now they all go play other sports. Obviously im rehashing an old topic but you cant help but wonder if the Klitschkos would be at the top today if a Lebron James-esque young boy took up boxing, had the heart and stuck with it, and went for the title.

                Agreed with the top statement.

The 70s had the best combination of quality and depth whereas the 90s had serious depth but lacked real quality or heart below Tyson/Holy/Lewis.

But I think the 60s is severely underrated, there was Patterson, youngest champ ever, Ali, then the second youngest champ ever, Listion who was to rule for a thousand years, Terrell, Williams, prime Chuvalo, Folley, Cooper, Frazier, Ellis, Bonavena, Mtahis and a few others.

Im not so sure that the 70s were better at the top than the 90s..

70s- Past prime Ali, Frazier was past it by 72ish, Prime Foreman, you can even throw in prime ken norton

90s- prime tyson, prime lennox, prime holyfield, prime Bowe

I think you could make the case that the early 90s had the most prime talent in history,,, 70s guys were still very good, but frazier and ali both i feel were better in the 60s...
Like i stated before, the only downfall to the 90s heavyweights were they did not fight each other when it mattered most... except for bowe-holyfield...

The seventies have it. I think the 1930's had some great fighters but it did not produce the matches that the 70's did.
