excellent fight with Ray giving Duran a good go. One left hook ended it put Ray in the hospital and he did not fight or walk for months. This is the fight where Duran had the famous
Saying in the post fight interview "next time I will send him to the morgue" although he did visit him in the hospital.
Lampkin suffered a concussion as a result of the back of head slamming the ring floor... Still frustrated from his failure to put Lampkin away earlier, Duran uttered those infamous words, long after the fight ended. He struggled to transition from the 'heat of battle' as most fighters do; witness his behavior toward Leonard immediately following the first fight. As brutal as Tyson was, he was often able display conciliatory gestures toward his fallen opponent. To say that Duran has "mellowed" over time, is a huge understatement...

Because it was atg puncher vs atg chin

Berrios is known for a weak chin, and Bute hits soft compared to prime Hearns

Take a look at the punches Duran took on the ropes before he went face first

            Prudencio Cardona vs Antonio Avelar

One of the most horrific knockouts I have ever seen.

Lupe Pintor-Johnny Owen. Not that brutal looking but Owen lapsed into a coma and never woke up.

And some Mexican fans threw beer cans at Owen when he was carried out on a stretcher.
One of the most disgusting nights in boxing history.

Damn, didn't know that. Sad. I feel like this behavior wouldn't happen if people still dressed up to fights.

The payoff was worth it on this one. Talk about falling flat on your face...

22 years later, Pintor visited Owen's family in Wales.
