Who was favored to win sanchez or gomez

I guess I could google it but I would like to hear your thoughts prior to the fight and were you suprised with the result?

I was five months old so I didn't put down any money on this fight. I would have to think that Sanchez was probably a slight favorite going in.

This was way before you could look these things up on the internet, but I believe that Gomez was the slight betting favorite. Sanchez's skills became much more recognized after this fight and Gomez came in with the glossier record (unbeaten, all KO's).

as silly as it sounds now, Gomez was heavily favored. Gomes was something like 32-0, all by knockout and it was perceived by many that Sanchez was good but had caught Danny Lopez on the way down. To his credit. Sanchez annihilated Gomez in 8 one sided rounds. A great performance by a great fighter.

Gomez at that time was one of my Favorite fighters, I thought that Sanchez would give him a tough fight early, then he would come on in the middle rounds & take over, but Gomez seemed to me, to be a bit nervous to start the fight, much more than Sanchez, & he got caught early, Sanchez hurt him bad, but he recovered to go on, but in my opinion, was hurt enough to alter the outcome of the fight, he recovered enough to continue, but not enough to be the Same fighter as when the bout started, he was really drained, by being hurt early.

Gomez was a big favorite in this fight, due to as mentioned above, his awesome record & he was considered unbeatable, I still wish Gomez had started the fight by being less nervous & warmed up more before entering the ring, he looked stiff to start out & definitely was not warmed up, I still think Sanchez beats him, even if Gomez could do it all over again, but I just would like to have seen it go on without Gomez hurt in round 1 to start it out, then we were robbed due to Sanchez's early death of what he may have done, so we may never how could he have been, Gomez moved back down & went on being great, he may just have moved up a bit too much who knows.
