Thats a pretty harsh statement considering that roy fought no one of relevance at the time he was MW champ,,, Hopkins became a name later on,

Jones dodged to many fights for me to consider him beating a prime hagler,,,

roy never fought mcclellan, nunn, benn, eubanks, collins, liles, michlewski,
Fighters foreign and domestic and roy being the top money$ guy couldnt get any of those guys to sign and fight,,,

How come manny, floyd, oscar, tyson, srl, ali and pretty much any money guy in a division can get any fight they want, yet roy couldnt,,,

like i said before,, hagler would cause jones alot of problems with his jab, and hagler would switch between lefty and righty causing more issues for roy,, roy would win early but then would get hagler would trap him,,
hagler had boxing skills, lets not act like he was a margarito or somebody like that..

So your first line of reasoning is "Jones dodged to many fights." I'm gonna stand by my statement.

Hagler had issues with a spent Roberto Duran (in his prime) and went on to lose to a Leonard who never won a meaningful fight again. The notion that Jones' legs or chin would give out in the latter rounds is pulled from one's ass.

Name the best MW that roy beat,,, You can say all you want about roy, but facts are he never challenged himself,,,,

Maybe if he had fought a nunn, mcclelan, liles, collins, eubanks, benn, we would have a better idea how roy acts with top level talent...

didnt lou del valle drop jones,,,

beating brannon, vinny paz etc doesnt impress me much to say he easily beats prime hagler

Just name his great MW wins or any great wins,,,

            dude beat an unknown hopkins,,

and then beat a fat weight drained toney...

then took a decade of beating bums

            then ruiz

            then tarver destroying superman

What was his best MW win

yet your going to say without a doubt that jones would be a prime hagler,,,
please, buck what facts lead you to this conclusion: That roy was a once in a generation athlete,, greatest athlete ever in boxing,,, Yet he dodged some many names he makes floyd look like SRL

You dont even give any mention on how roy beats hagler,,,

you just say jones,, anybody that says hagler is an idiot,,,,
            Great logic there

I wouldn't say that Duran gave him trouble, so to speak. The fight was competitive, but Hagler was the clear victor. Also take into consideration that Duran was one of the greatest fighters ever and still solid even after his prime. And as for the Leonard fight, Hagler himself was over the hill by the time Sugar Ray decided to actually fight him.

Also, Jones Jr's prime didn't come until about 5 years after his last fight at 160 (in my personal opinion), which is something that should be taken into consideration when looking at this fantasy matchup.

I'm on the fence about this one. Roy has the athletic advantage, but Hagler was tough as nails and had a habit of catching up to you at some stage.

I don't see how Hagler wins, personally. It'll look like the Ray Leonard fight without Leonard fading late.

jones has enough power and speed to keep haggler at bay but saying that hagler was a very good boxer and would be surprised if he dint catch up to jones in the late rounds. Jones speed and athletisism at his prime tho was ridiculous and the way leonard gave haggler trouble, jones would double that against a prime hagler.

Even if it were before Jones' prime, he still dominated his fights as was physically very large for his weightclass.

I think there's plenty of evidence that good, technically sound boxers caused some problems for Hagler. Jones was a great boxer who was technically sound, be it unorthodox. Hagler also has those couple loses on the way up against guys who fit that mold pretty well.

Is this really any different to someone putting forth the argument that Roy Jones could be rattled if someone with power caught him flush on the chin? All fighters have their own weaknesses, it just so happens that in this case each fighter possesses the other's "kryptonite". This one is a close call, IMO.
