Most definitely. Would have been wild! Build up too. Aaron Pryor was a beast at his best and u can believe he would have put up one helluva fight and i actually DO give him some chance of winning! Would i pick him? No Sugar Ray was even better as well as being bigger. But it bothers me a little bit that a lot of fans just dismiss it like it was a no brainer SRL easy win

Pryor always seemed like a guy who made up his game plan three minutes before he came out. Leonard does have a few advantages over him, though Hawk could turn into a savage and swing for the fences like Leonard did in the later rounds of the first Hearns fight.

in that sparring session pryor did nothing. i was there. the only fighter to give ray fits believe it or not was howard davis who was so much quicker and raymond would just try to load up. one thing ray knew was even though he had lots of amateur ko's the one thing pryor brought to the table was he was not scared of him or hearns or any of the top fighters in the juniors, nationals, golden gloves etc. still ray would beat him easily because pryor was just to brave and the power of ray would be to much.

it makes sense that howar davis speed mighta gave leonard trouble but for the pryor sparring session, I had the general impression that they sparred more than once. did u catch a lot of the sparring? is it true that they sparred 4 or 5 minute rounds?

It would be interesting at 140lbs AAron at 147 wasn't the same. Ray when he was coming up could make 140 easily!
In my gym for his 6th or 7th fight he weighed in around 144 and could move up or down a few pounds easily. When your young its pretty easy and causes no problems!!

140+2 or 3lbs would have been a good fight. Ray would have to be ON and very sharp to handle Prior! Prior could be relentless and at times extremely awkward and tuff to time! Prior had a very mature body as a younger guy and that helped him alot in the amatuers and pros!! Where as Ray matured after the first Duran fight, mentally and physically. I'd like Ray as the fight moved into latter rounds but early rounds might be ruff if he's not tuned in!! Ray.

The Pryor that fought Arguello against the Leonard that fought Duran the 1st time is a 50/50 fight.

Anytime after that first Duran loss, Marquez vs the Baby Bull with Pryor winning the early rounds, but Leonard rallying back to win by late KO or decision.
