Why do you think he might be heavier? He wasn't carrying 30 pounds of fat. He had a larger frame than Marciano. He was the bigger man.

Frazier had two hands too. Not as much power in his right as there was in his left, but it was there, and he used it very well considering his size. You can see it in virtually any fight that isn't the FOTC.

A dead tired Archie Moore sat on the ropes avoiding blow after blow from Marciano while he had nothing left to give, he was pretty much waiting to be finished but Marciano was clumsy enough to keep missing and missing. That's not exactly Joe Louis level finishing.

To compare, Frazier came close to stopping Muhammad Ali in their first fight on more than one occasion. A much more durable and bigger man than Moore.
when I look at the 2, Marciano has got the harder punch and in BOTH hands and for his weight looks pretty strong, id say a 30 pound heavier frazier is slightly stronger but for a 30 pound difference should be a lot more, Tyson on the other hand.......well hes clearly the beast in this line up. Its tough coz there all scary in different aspects, tough call

Depends, have they seen their whole careers play out, or in their prime? How much do they know about them and did Ali fight Frazier before having to make this decision?

Because after those wars with Frazier I'm sure Ali wants nothing more to do with him and would welcome Tyson and Rocky

Your all welcomed to your opinions what ever way your basing them on. My opinion about Marciano vs Ali has alot to with Ali's comments about Rocky after they filmed their "computer" bouts! Maybe some of you might want to read what both said about one another.
People here constantly compare opponents in a commonality way which has nothing to do with out comes!Styles make fights and what a fighter does successfully against one may not work on another. If a fighter is open for a right from Ali, Tysons right may not be effective against the same fighter. Common opponents are what fans cling to, they think it has alot to do with comparisons because actual abilities to evaluate comes from people who have worked in the sport for many years!
Opinions are fine, everyone has one just like everyone has one..............!!!!! HA!! Ray.

A really educated post and unlike Ray Corso you argue your point with valid facts..

Too say Joe Frazier was a one handed fighter is extremely moronic

One handed would also mean one dimensional and nobody beats Muhammed Ali with one hand

Frazier is turning over in his grave because of uneducated twits like Corso

Lets pick out things wrong with Marciano,
He has one of the laziest jabs of any heavyweight champion that ever existed
          He's small
          He's slow
          He lacks head movement
          he's clumsy
he leaves himself wide open whenever he lets his hands go
he was never tested against prime dangerous men
comes forward in straight lines... rarely creates angles

The best thing about Marciano is his power and chin,I don't think he'd be even able to land a blow on Ali in all honesty

Ali vs Marciano would be like an easier version of the Liston fight..

ali said that he thinks he would have trouble with Marciano, I think ali was being more modist as he got older and I believe he would beat rocky but it would be a tough night for him and he would do miles better than liston. He was no boxer but he was a professional relentless brawler and would keep comin for 15 rounds

Rocky Marciano 6' 188--192 best weight!!

              Marciano
              Tyson
              Frazier

Ali, Holmes and Lewis would have the tuffest time with Marciano because his two handed attack and relentless pressure with great conditioning. He also has the highest work rate over a 15 round bout!
Tyson would be second for many of the same attributes as Rocky accept for total out put over a 15 round period.
Frazier would be the least but ofcourse a problem!! Joe was basicly a one handed fighter who had a terrific jab but didn't use once he got into his flow!
Tremendous heart like Rocky and solid stamina too!

I disagree that Frazier was bigger faster and stronger, I think the opposite! He was heavier, thats all! Plus Rocky had a superior two handed attack and no one finished like the Rock! Ray
              Frazier is over 5 f 11, not 5 f 10

Listons 84' reach and jab could hardly catch clay, although Liston was slow and so was Marciano lets not forget....

Marciano has a 76 reach and have the time he threw right hand hayemaker lead rights and he missed soo much against static legends that were far past their primes,he was really predictable aswell

look how often he tries the lead right hand hayemaked from really far out...

Joe Calzaghe fought better fighters closer to their primes than Rocky

I wanna say Tyson, just because of the HUGE threat level in the early rounds. Not to mention, he may get slower down the strech, but Tyson can pack a punch. Marciano would be at the bottom of the list.

I assume u meant to type 67 reach and that reach would give Marciano a big advantage on the inside, he was no frazier or Tyson with his bobbing but he was a small guy to punch down to that never stood straight up, so ali would be picking his jab wisely. Rocky had a great chin and I said before would keep comin all night, of course hes gona miss against ali but for 15 rounds hes going to pound alis arms and body and get lucky inside with a few bombs to the head in the later rounds. Your telling me that's hes either going to quit or get knocked down in the first round like liston, you tell me what happens?

I'm telling you that he wouldn't get near Ali and get completely dominated for 15 rounds..When have you ever seen someone in close with their head on Alis chest in his prime?... Joe Louis in his prime had trouble with smaller guys so if people are thinking"he gave Joe hell so he must be in with a chance with Ali,you're wrong"

Do people think a 12 stone 3 pound guy called Billy Conn would give Ali trouble????? because he gave a prime Louis a really big shock and almost stopped Louis a couple times and completely outboxed him in several rounds

Marciano would get frustrated and make even more mistakes than he already made to start with...
