Liston would be an good one. Also one of the wildest stories is that of "Two Ton" Tony Galento. They were actually going to make a movie about him but the plans fell through.

Frazier, Louis, Hagler, Liston and a good Marciano one. The ones I've seen focused mostly on stories from his personal life and had unconvincing boxing scenes. I'd like to see someone who actually looked the part and could be convincing in the fight scenes and with his acting play the part.

Most would agree that there were many more compelling stories than Mickey Ward to feature in film. There are making a film on Duran which i think will be out next year? Perhaps this will be a good film. Deniro will play Ray Arcel and Gael Garcia Bernal as Duran. The film will be called Hands of Stone.

These are the five films that first come to mind:

1-Sam Langford: I read his biography as written by Clay Moyle he has quite a story going from Canada to New England trying to search for his next meal. He faced many legends and traveled around the world. He met guys like Picasso and JP Morgan. Fought guys as much as a foot taller and knocked them out. Of course, he also fought blind in one eye after the Fred Fulton fight. He was an optimistic guy despite how his life ended.

2-Harry Greb : He was a German American kid and his dad wanted him to be a baseball player like Honus Wagner another German American who played for the local Pittsburgh Pirates. Greb fought over 300 bouts in a short period. The film would have major drama as he loss his wife to TB as he had a young daughter. Like Langford, he fought blind and still had major wins.

3-Carlos Monzon: One of the most polarizing figures in the history of the sport. He was both lionized and despised. Monzon went from the streets fo Santa FE to a champion, than he had the fall from grace. Plenty of drama in a movie about Monzon.

4-Sonny Liston: I am not sure if you saw the Unsolved Mysteries episode on his life and death. Liston went from criminal to champion, and than a mysterious death. Officially he died of drug overdose, but little trace of drugs were found, some say he was killed because he didn't throw the fight with Chuck Wepner.

5-Daniel Mendoza: Okay this goes way back. Mendoza to some is the father of scientific boxing. He faced anti-semitism growing up in the east end of London and than became the most dominant bare knuckle champion of his era. Like Langford and Greb he beat much bigger opponents.
I've always thought that Greb was Dutch rather than German.

A Duran movie id be very interested in but thats actually due out soon i believe

Johnny Tapia would be well worth a watch on the big screen

A Rid**** Bowe flick would be entertaining too

As someone already said Sonny Liston, that would be outstanding. Though i think they did make one with Ving Rhames called Phantom Punch or Night Train (cant remember) though i never saw it myself

Arturo Gatti is another id like to see have his life (and death) made into a movie

And i wouldnt turn my nose up at a Joe Louis film either

Alexis Arguello's life has potential to become a great biopic: Poor kid turned champion turned war hero turned politician. A colorful life with a sadly tragic ending.

                B-Hop could be good too.

one of the most exciting fighters ever was a light heavyweight champ who took the title as matt franklin then changed his name to matthew saad muhammad. thing is, he was actually born maxwell loach into a poverty stricken family then abandoned at a very young age and found on franklin in philadelphia. he was so young he could hardly tell his name so they re named him matthew and since he was found on franklin, he became matt franklin. he goes on to become one of the most exciting ever. if that aint enuff, the rematch with qawi was dramatically sad with him flinching in there. oughtta b a movie n if it is already a movie, time for a remake
