What if Holmes beat Spinks in the rematch?

Let's say Holmes knocked out Spinks in the 14th round of the rematch. Then they have a third match, and Holmes wins that one. This sets up a Tyson-Holmes showdown.

Holmes still loses to Tyson. But he'd give a better account of himself than in 1988 when they did meet. He might have had enough savvy at that point to last the distance! Lets face it, if Bonecrusher and Tucker could last the distance I'd give a better prepared Holmes a chance.

Holmes was two years inactive and a touch rusty when they did meet..........he only had a couple of months to prepare too.

tyson still wins and mostly likely by KO I'd expect larry to give a better account of himself but I guess the net result is tyson's atg rating is enhanced

Or just suppose the judges had a good night.

I agree with this. Admittedly Holmes had slowed down around the time he fought Spinks but even if he fought a tune up or two before the fight he would have a better showing than he did against Tyson the way it played out.
