McGoortys Videos 1st Effort Les Darcy tribute

Hey Guys I am back and made first video, its a bit long so its in two parts. please comment as I am a novice Cecil B DeMille... well maybe not, Hers part One

I'm not in Barnburners class but I'm already on next project, I am doing one featuring Floyd Mayweather, Terry McGovern, Benny Leonard, Alexis Arguello. As there are very old film clips on it mixed in with more modern fighters, I decided to mess with the colour films and give em the ageing process, looks very cool with Floyd Mayweather and Arturo Gatti looking like they fought 100 years ago and the film sorta looks like the Gans and Nelson and Darcy films. I can assure you that Arturo Gatti looks very much at home in 1910..... although he didnt appreciate losing to Floyd very much... LOL

Thanks mate, I wanted to find some good clips to put into slow motion, well its ultra slow motion, I wanted to highlight the fact that within just a second of film of that time just how few frames were snapped, also I wanted to highlight how much effort was put behind nearly every punch thrown by fighters back then, take George Chip, KO Brown and les Darcy, all three look to be trying to put their fists right through the abdomen and right through back out the spine. -----------------------------------------------------------------------Darcy amazes me because he seems very quick and he just never looks tired and looks like he could go 50 rounds, Clabby amazes me too for a guy who never hets mentioned in the toughness stakes, he proves that he can take terrible punishment and never looks like a slouch..... I didnt mention McGoorty earlier mainly because he got annihilated in that last round, but he does to the very end try to stop Darcy, even though he had no hope after about the 4th round of that fight, you dont see the other 14 rounds but it lives on in folklore how amazing that fight was, in that fight spectators said that McGoorty landed a few left hooks on Darcy's chin that were the hardest punches ever seen at the stadium, until late in the fight when Darcy landed blows at least as powerful.... lastly, I wanted to highlight just how awesomely tough all those guys were... all true ironmen, the 5 fighters shown on the video should all be revered.. all except the backfists that Chip loved so much, I dont know if Ive ever seen as much effort in a backfist in my life.. lol

Yeah, amazing just about sums it up, talkin about the clips. When it comes to film of the old timers I am easily pleased and these films I used are some of my favourites, I just wish there was films of at least 5 other Darcy fights, as well as the full 2nd McGoorty fight. I would give much to see the two fights with jeff Smith in their entirety just to have visual proof that Darcy was robbed in the first fight and that he did indeed annihilate Jeff in the rematch, plus that was the fight when he won that belt and the beginning of the long unbeaten streak he enjoyed that only death had stopped, also I would love to see film of his fights where he KO'd guys with one blow. ---------------- ----------------------------- ---------- The clip of the KO of Chip I am not sure if thats the actual KO although you see Chip clearly falling, its hard to see if that punch lands cleanly, the report said it was a KO with a single perfect left hook, please give me your opinion about whether that is the KO punch or if the rest of the 9th round is actually missing from the surviving film, but I do know that Chip was KO'd cleanly in the 9th.

he falls in a heap, but i can't really tell what is landing, mostly due to the angle.
