Davey and Matt Hilton

How good could these guys have been if they had of stayed clean and out of trouble their whole careers?

Davey was a very good fighter, but Mathew was an excellent fighter. Heck, even Alex was a pretty good fighter. I think Davey would have been a major belt holder, but Mathew was truly elite of the Hilton clan, and while he did show just how good he was for a short time, he could have been a multiple belt winner had he kept out of trouble.

It is sad how the Hilton family fighters destroyed themselves.

Yeah, watch Matt Hilton vs Buster Drayton on youtube, and you can see just how good Matthew coulda been. Davey ended up going to prison for 7 years for ******ing and having *** with his own teenage daughters. Extremely weird.

I'm not so sure...

I'm a fan of Matthew, but I don't think he was that good or that he could have reached the goals you say he could have. And I personnaly think Dave was the best fighter of the family. He moved well, he boxed well and punched with a lot of authority. Meanwhile, Matthew was in love with his power, and he would just throw all he had in wild barrages sometimes, as can be seen in his fight against Drayton. Too wild.

I only say that Mathew was the best of the Hilton's because Davey seemed to be somewhat lazy in general. Did he have the most talent of the brothers...yes, no doubt. Did he have the work ethic of Mathew though...nope. Mathew wasn't that far off in terms of skills from Davey, yet he had a non stop motor and didn't take many (if any) rounds off as Davey did. If Davey trained right, he'd have been truly great, but that was one weakness he had, and training hard and a non stop motor is a positive that made Mathew the better fighter imo.

Sadly all of the brothers seemed to fall from grace though. I never can understand how such successful and talented people fail like they did, and this from a guy who battled substance abuse and overcame it, and I and many others have less on the line than the Hiltons did...so strange and sad.

Sometimes the same demons that drive people forward in boxing are the same ones that cause their downfall.

So sad then, they eventually seem to die young, I feel sorry for them.
