There are hundreds of 10 ten lists of heavies on this site, and a lot of heartfelt debate about who ranks where. This is a tough debate to settle. Here's my proposal:
Take any list as a starting point. Imagine each boxer fights the other nine on the list on two occasions (sort of home and away). With three points for a win and one for a draw, what does the league table look like at the end of the season?
(For the record my top ten is:
1. Ali
2. Louis
3. Foreman
4. Liston
5. Lewis
6. Frazier
7. Marciano
8. Holmes
9. Dempsey
10. Cooper (not really serious, but I'm a Brit, and you've got to say that left hook on the then Clay was sweet)
