Roy Jones Jr arguable the best resume in modern boxing

    Here is the breakdown

Jorge Vaca coming off wins against Mark Breland and Quincy Taylor x2. Roy knocked him out in the first round. At least a B level win

Jorge Castro went on a great run at middleweight after losing to Roy. Roy shut him out B+ level win

Bernard Hopkins save me the not in his prime crap 28 years old 22-1 record and would go on a 12 year run of middleweight domination. B-Hop still to this day hasn't lost decisively. Not quite total domination but at worst a 8-4 decision but probable closer to 9-3. A level win

Thulani Mulinga coming off narrow decision losses to Eubank and Benn and would later beat Benn and become a 2x super middleweight champion. Roy dominated embarassed and knocked him the phuk out. At least a B level win

James Toney please don't give me the ******ed weight drained excuse Toney was no more weight drained for this fight then he was in any other fight before this one. Everybody knows how the fight went total domination A+ win. Probable the best win of the decade

Merqui Sosa gave James Toney hell a few years back, beat former light heavyweight champion Prince Charles Williams twice and would later beat Glen Johnson. Considered to have one of the greatest chins in boxing at the time. Roy stopped him in the 2nd round. B+ win

Mike McCallum while very old and definitely not in his prime he was still a very tough. He was only a year removed form being a light heavyweight champion losing to a very good fighter Tiozzo. McCallum in 50+ fights had never been anything close to dominated. Roy shut him out B+ win.

Montell Griffin the first fight was a farce Roy was about to end the fight before Griffin's acting job. Roy comes back knocks him out in the first round B+ win

Virgil Hill yes he was old and not quite prime but still VERY close to it proven by him going and winning a championship at cruiserweight in spectacular fashion a couple of years after losing to Roy. That is arguable Hill's best win. And as we all know Roy gave him one of the most spectacular knockouts ever A- win

Julio Cesar Gonzalez at the time thought of as a complete mismatch but Gonzalez would prove his worth by going overseas and being the first man to beat an all time great Dariusz. Of course Roy shut Gonzalez out B+ level win

John Ruiz Yes he was a paper champion but still a top 5 heavyweight and Roy was breaking new ground by moving up to heavyweight. Roy thoroughly dominated A- win although I wouldn't argue if you wanted to say B+

I wish Roy had retired after beating Ruiz. That would have been an awesome way to go out. Now he's just pissing all over his legacy.

Stopping Tate and Thornton in a few rounds, who went the distance with Julian Jackson, Eubank and Toney, was far more impressive than his poor performance against Gonzales.

Roy should of stayed at heavyweight after the Ruiz bout and fought Hollyfield and maybe even Tyson then retired.

DLH, Chavez, Leonard, Hearns, Duran, Lewis, Holyfield, Benitez, Sanchez, Spinks, Ali, Arguello, Frazier, etc., etc., etc., all have better resumes than Jones.

Malinga, Sosa, Vaca, Castro, Gonzales and Ruiz? Really?

And by the way, Jones was not "breaking new ground" by moving up to heavyweight.

Roy's problem today isn't that he is still fighting, its that he is fighting against top competition(like top 10 cruiserweights Green and Lebedev, and top 10 light heavyweights like Johnson Tarver and Calzaghe) instead of the usual bums and other washed former champions.

Why, would that enhance his legacy?

LOL yeah I knew you would come in to this thread with something ******. Like I said people complain about Roy not fighting Dariusz and Benn but then shyt on a the men who beat him. Also its not just that he beat stiff competition like Vaca, Castro, Sosa, Ruiz etc its that he totally and completely dominated them like no one else could.

And yes he was breaking new ground as to my knowledge there has never been another middleweight/super middleweight/lightheavy and heavyweight champion before.

You just love to throw out the insults when someone opposes your opinion, don't you? It's cool though, because I REALLY want you to keep doing it.

The fact is though that every fighter I named can be argued to have a better resume than Jones without resorting to pulling names like Vaca, Gonzales and Sosa to pad it. The problem is that you don't know enough about them to understand.
