I haven't liked Frazier very much since he turned into a bitter (and often drunk) ex champion, but he damn well deserves a major tribute in Philly for what he's accomplished.

After what Ali did to him, he has the right to still be bitter. The verbal lashing ali dished out was almost worse than their actually trilogy.

          "uncle tom"
          "ugly"
          "other type negroe"
          "can't sing"
          "short boy"
          "the white mans champ"

          Those words still hurt frazier

Who said anything about Ali? He is bitter in general and almost never has anything positive to say about any fighters from past his era. I've suffered through him guest hosting on ESPN's weekly fights enough to know this.

B-Hop offered to pay for it if the city finds somewhere for it, and they've got a rough draft of his head already done.

Personally I think they should tear down the Rocky Balboa statue (come the **** on, Rocky??) and put his up in its place.

I've never seen him acting like that, but then again I've only seen interviews and things like Facing Ali/Thrilla in Manila. Aside from his fights of course. In all of those he seemed to have a nice sense of humour

Personally I think he's got the right to be a little bitter. Not just because of Ali, for example but because of how his own city built a statue of a fictional boxer loosely based on him (among others) instead of an actual boxer and certified ATG like himself. This is one of the many ways life hasn't been kind to Joe since his retirement.

He seems bitter, but most old men from Philly (fighters at that) are t so kind. Look at B Hop.

I grew up in philly and boxed at his gym when I was young(er) and he seemed kinda nice to me. Oddly enough he had a great deal of respect for Louis, Foreman and Charles. He never said anything bad about them.

"Joe, tell me about your fight with George"

                  "He beat me up"

Goddamn what an opportunity you had
