Mathews fought and KO'd Lowry in the fifth. 90 wins 61 KO's and only 7 losses. Mathews may not be the best finisher in boxing history when compared to the likes found on JAB's list, but is definitely worth a mention and a little remembering.
Excellent thread at first I wanted to just answer "Well my man Rocco of course" but thinking about Joe, and Jack really made me realize, or at least think about, How his KO's are kind of a brand. They're distinct, but so are Joe Louis' and Mike Tyson's. Looking through the names people have posted it's safe to say all the greats come with their vary own flavor. which makes it damn near impossible to say Boxer A is the hands down greatest finisher of all time and know you've got no personal bias due to "cool" factor. To me the absolute coolest moment in boxing was the Suzie Q on Walcott. Was that a damn excellent finish? Yeah, but was it in some way technically superior or inferior to Tyson's KO on Tillman?
