Do any of you actually belive Louis was a greater fighter than Ali and rate higher on a HW ATG List?

It's a very difficult task seperating them but, I have Louis at the top at the moment and, it's something that changes a lot. They are always in the top 2 though.

I got Louis rated number one over Ali but don't argue very hard over who rates either higher any more. Joe's 25 defenses put him on top for me. Its just an incredible level of consistency at an elite level.

Ali and Louis fills the top two in most peoples list of heavies. I have Ali on top, but I have no problem with those who have Louis as no. 1. I'd be shocked if anybody (but trolls) had a third man as top dog.

I have Louis over Ali but i do change my mind from time to time - usually after watching Ali vs Williams! Thats a special type of performance right there, i know Williams wasnt the greatest but Ali made him look like a street punk

I wont argue with a pick for Louis but I dont think there is any doubt that Ali fought fought a higher level of competition. My pick is Ali.

Yeah but, Louis' defences and sheer consistency backed with a good resume containing 8 Hall of Famers balances that out and a tiny bit more for me.

My vote is for Louis overall --- I have this nagging feeling he'd have beaten Ali head-to-head, but I give Ali the nod on accomplishments. Overall, I have Louis just shading Ali.

Both head-to-head & accomplishments, I consider them as neck-&-neck as any two Heavies in division history. Head-to-head, Louis. Accomplishments, Ali. Louis by a nose, all things considered.

i have louis over ali, but not too strenuously. johnson, louis, dempsey, ali, tunney are tops for me. turn this upside down id have no problems.
