Much more aggressive... anything under 147lbs, and Floyd was aggressive to me... look at the Gatti fight at 140... he was super aggressive, and Gatti couldn't land a glove on him...

A 168lb Roy Jones comes to mind as well... pretty damn aggressive but hardly getting hit.

I think the reason I didn't mention Roy, (much as I think he might have been the most talented pound for pound fighter ever) was because when he was faced with aggression he was happy to retreat to the ropes and counter.

I'm thinking Brannon and to a degree Pazienza.

That said, he was pretty aggressive against Antoine Byrd and Tony Thornton.

True, but his defensive skills on the ropes were pretty damn good... he would parry, hold his gloves on the other guys shoulders, he would lean, turn, and deflect oncoming punches and return with pinpoint hooks to the body and fast uppercuts..

He may of been on the ropes against Brannon, but that only lasted literally about a minute... and Pazienza had him on the ropes for about 30 seconds of the end of a round... the rest of the fight was fought in the center of the ring with Pazienza literally not landing a single punch in one round...

Anyways... Roy has had his aggressive and non aggressive fights... as does Floyd.

Tyson is another, though... prime Tyson with the reflexes, bobbing, weaving and ferocious pressure...

Jones Jnr is my idol, in his prime I cant think of anyone I'd rather fight like. His fighting off the ropes was superb. There was nothing that guy couldn't do at his best!

Its a shame his hands didn't come up higher as his reflexes faded into his 30s. His lack of ability to adapt his style and his 'see-sawing' weight were his only real weaknesses.

He did do the hands up thing... See Hanshaw, Tito - Success.. then against Calzaghe he tried to do it, and it worked horrible for him...

Then he felt he needed to go back to the style that brought him success... his problem was his disbelief that his skills have eroded...

People are probably going to laugh at me for this, but Bernard Hopkins? He was more aggressive in his early days, and although he fights dirty from time to time, I think his ring savvy and knowledge with the dirty tactics always kept him safe.

You know what, I'd forgot that he did that in the Trinidad fight.....and damn successfully too. I never gave that much thought in the Calzaghe fight, I just thought he was protecting his eye.

I suppose the Lacy fight was very much the old Jones style....got his confidence back, too much really. The Green loss still puzzles me, he shipped a few good punches off Lacy and laughed them off, then can barely stand up to what very much looks like an innocuous blow. Pity, I'd have favoured the Jones who faced Lacy over Hopkins.

Its a shame he wont hang up the gloves now.

                    who you got?
Roberto Duran, and Mike Tyson in his prime. I'm sure I'm leaving a lot of other fighters out
