Would be KO1'ed by any top Heavyweight today. Sure he beat a 55 year old Joe Louis, and he beat Jersey Joe, but so did losing record fighter Johnny Allen. Tiger Jack Fox also beat Jersey Joe...not to be confused with Tiger Red Fox or any of the other Tigers Jersey Joe Walcott fought. No way is he a top 100 HW. What were his accomplishments at HW? Beating an old Joe Louis?
Ezzard Charles lost to Young Jack Johnson, imagine what would have happened if he had to face Actual Jack Johnson.
this isn't how we evaluate the greatness of past fighters
as I said, you're a joke because you posted an understatement
to say Ezzard Charles, who is largely considered to be the best LHW of AT and who is highly ranked in 3 weight classes, to say that man was ''very good'', this is like saying Albert Einstein was very intelligent
you would have been better off not posting at all in this thread
and you have been exposed in that other thread (not the first time you get exposed either)
I never ever talk about fights I haven't seen
He was very very good. Or do you think very very very good?
he was excellent. Had such masterful control of all of his punches had great form and could throw any combination perfectly. If your teaching your son how to box, you show him some Ezzard Mack Charles footage.
Greatest lightweight, top 20 middle weight and possibly top 10 or 15 heavyweight. He also could cut as you can see in his 2nd marciano fight. If MArciano didnt KO him, Marciano could have lost his nose.
Charles was a great boxer. I prefer to rank him as a ATG light heavy rather than heavy because the victory over Louis came long after Louis's prime and also the losses to Marciano and Walcott(and Holman) but his career as a light heavyweight was brilliant.
