        i would put that down to the younger historians having never seen Dempsey, Johnson, Jeffries etc in the flesh

            Are you 100% sure they aren't so good just except the fact that they are old timers?

              i am not a boxing historian, But Red Smith was the greatest Boxing Journalist ever and i would take his word when he talked about who was the greatest.. here is an article by him.

                    If he keeps winning for several more years, and especially if Haye finally gets up the balls to fight him and gets dominated, then he'll get close to the top 10, and quite possibly within it, due to length and dominance of reign, plus knock-out ratio.

                    Lewis only cracked the P4P lists at the very end of his reign after he'd beaten Tyson. Wlad has already cracked them. And Holmes' competition was mostly no better than Wlad's. And Wlad's jab is comparable with Holmes' jab, possibly even better.
