and Duran would have really put a hurting on Pacquiao on the inside, because
Pacquiao is not much of a rough infighter.

off the top of my head, I cant remember Duran fighting a southpaw at lightweight though, so that kind of throws me off.
He did fairly well with Hagler, but that certainly wasnt 135lbs.

Honestly I think Duran stops him, although it would have been some close rounds at first, with it getting less competitive as the fight goes on.
He did brilliantly against southpaws and from memory he faced about four at LW/around LW. I can't recall them at the moment, but I remember going through them and it was about four from memory. I think because of his counter punching, left hook and that super sneaky right counter outside, inside and the right body counter uppercut, he just ate them up. Later on, he fought Hagler, Sims, Camacho etc and he did everything perfectly against them. Lead right, left hook, move to the left, counter etc etc. At LW I do remember Emilliano Villa, Leoncio Ortiz, Juan Medina, and what I remember most is that he stopped all of them with very sneaky right hands and also countered their right hooks and straight lefts all the time. Obviously they are not Pac, but it gives you an idea that he handled southpaws with relative ease.

His straight right, body shots, counter punching and defense inside and outside and the way that Pac didn't stop you from getting inside means he would have taken it in a great fight by late stoppage from body punishment or via decision along the lines of 9-6/10-5. Freak stamina, incredible defense, could outbox Pac on the outside and really bust him up on the inside, plus his chin when he did take a shot....I just can't see Pac getting past that. One of the few guys he really just wouldn't beat.

Check out his sneaky right. Straight down the pipe, very fast and straight. Pac would get popped with that all night and his counter right was really brutal.

Edit: One of the others was Adolfo Viruet. That was at 140.

Disagree about Mosley beating him. Not saying he couldn't, but I'm taking Manny over a brawler at any weight between 130 and 140, and Mosley is definitely a brawler.

                Hey man....

Just wondering how old you were? A primed DURAN was arguably the GREATEST LIGHTWEIGHT EVER! We could also make that case for WHITAKER, PEP, CHAVEZ. I think WHITAKER was personally. You couldn't run from DURAN. Cwertain fighters you had to be special to beat. MANNY is special in the footspeed, stamina, and learning curve departments but he ain't no WHITAKER or LEONARD. He uses his legs in a different way. In order to have a chance against DURAN, you had to MOVE! MANNY is a warrior andthat's why he'd lose.

There were many great lightweights than these my friend...banny leonard, Joe Gans etc etc. And ah...Pep is rated at featherweight

very easily, manny is faster and has more power and with manny coming forward throwing combos at will duran gets stopped middle rounds,

would be a great fight and it is impossible to say who would win, i believe Pacquiao is a far better fighter at 140-147 than he was at 135
