Ron Lyle was a pretty vicious brawler. When he fought George Foreman, no slouch at brawling himself, it turned into my all time favorite slugfest fight.

LaMotta really wasn't a brawler. I think he gets type cast on that because of the movie "Raging Bull". Not that he couldn't brawl or didn't. I just don't see it as his forte.

Often guys who are swarmers, stalkers, pressure, or brawlers mixed a little bit of everything, so not always easy to distinguish them. As for some of the best: Wolgast, Ketchel, Liston,Galento, Basillo, Graziano, Foreman

guys who mixed brawling with swarming: Fenech, Tyson

i wouldn't say Frazier. you have to a bit of skill to beat Muhammad Ali

I've never understood why people think Arturo Gatti was a brawler.Constantly engaging and participating in slugfests does not necessarily make you a brawler.Gatti was very much the typical boxer-puncher.

His determination, workrate, and explosive, decisive punching power, combined with vulnerability,an inability to mix defense with offense is what made him so exciting.

                    Has to be Marciano.

I wouldn't call LaMotta or Frazier brawlers, they were more than that.

Marciano,Fullmer,Jack Dempsey, Duran,Fritzie Zivic,Stanley Ketchel,HARRY GREB,Rocky Graziano and Basillo. There were lots of great brawlers but to me these few standout. I may be however forgetting some. Most of these fighters had considerable skills (Duran,Dempsey,Basillo) but they are often clasified in that league...Some like Ketchel were outright brawlers. Tony Galento was an outright tough guy, who got involved in a lot of bar room fights and was a out and out brawler in the ring.
