    Johnny Nelson

    Never really spoken about these days.

    One of boxing true success stories. Lost more than he won as a amatuer (2-13) & lost his first 3 straight pro bouts. At one points held a record of 6-5 & 25-12.

    But ended up winning British, European, & ended becoming WBO world champion & making 13 defences and holding the title for 6 years and retireing champion.

    Also Leaving the sport on a 21 fight unbeaten streak.

    Beat the likes of Carl Thomspon, Ezra Sellers, Marcelo Fabian Dominguez, Dennis Andries, & Crawford Ashley.

    Not the best style to watch. But the man is a role model and never gave up. And in the end became one of britans best world champions of the era.

    Nelson was also ultra tough with a great chin he took a peak Corrie Sanders the distance at HW.

    Surely Nelson's success story rivals anyone's of all time.

      He seems good what were some other impressive performances. How would he with holyfield, haye, jirov, jc gomez, C. deleon, O.norris, toney, mormeck, bell, adamek, Qawi. Need to see more of nelson to make my picks

          As you said a great success story who is an excellent commentator/host over here in Britain for Sky Sports fights.
