      Such a great question.

Possibly, it might have been that everyone was too scared to face him.

Or maybe it was simply the first signs of his unprofessionalism compromising his career.

But what if he jut felt better there? Why did Gomez fight at 122, when he probably could have (easily) made 118? I think he would have been too dried out. He wouldn't have been able to put onthose dazzling displays, after leaving the best of himself in the steamroom.

Pryor's style might have required he skip the weight cut, even if that meant giving up size to his opponents.

I really think a lot of the reason Arguello lost to Pryor was that he simply met someone his own size. He couldn't impose himself on smaller men as he had for so many years.

And he fell asleep at the wheel in the final round. That seemed to seal the deal.

I am not giving Panama and Pryor a pass for what they very well might have done - no one believes it was just schnapps in that bottle. But i think people try way too hard to explain away Arguello's loss.

I really think Arguello would have won that fight at 135 pounds. Maybe Pryor saw it that way, too?

        - -To answer the OP question, it's a bit nonsensical.

        1. KT Fightweight as big or bigger than welters of Alexis era because of modern weighin rules.

A much harder task which brings us to the obvious. Of course Alexis could beat an inferior fighter to Pryor...Duh!

Alexis the greater fighter, but KT up there as well.

          How good was Tszu,though?

I think Pryor has his hands full in this one. He's finally the smaller man and (probably) the less powerful puncher. The tables have turned, but I dunno how good KT really was...
