Why did Liston throw the 2nd fight with Ali?

    Yes Malcom X realised much earlier after and in a quote Ali said he regretted turning his back on him.

    If you've watched the "Facing ALi" documentary the quote is in there, I'll try and fish it out.

      This was a good video talking about that fight, the assassination of Malcolm X and the Nation of Islam possibly threating Liston and Mark Kram of SI said he spoke to Sonny in Las Vegas and he said he wasn't hit. from around 2:46 is when the Ali-Liston talk starts.

                Muhammad Ali only had one KO in his entire career in the 1st round!!

                And it was against a guy who had a very good chin,Sonny Liston.

                Liston threw the fight for sure.No doubt about it.But why did he throw it?

                      Yes,Ali was clearly mad that Liston threw the fight.He was mad and yelling at Liston to get up.Ali wanted to win fair and square,and was yelling at Liston to get up.He knew nobody would believe Liston going down from that "light" right hand.

                      Lol,Liston even looked bad throwing the fight.His acting was poor,trying to get up and then falling back onto his back.
