At 154 pretty much a toss-up. I would go with Jackson though, I think his chin was more solid and he had more power than anyone Hearns was ever in against.

At the same time, Hearns was faster and hit harder than anyone Jackson was in with. I like Tommy here, but it's really whoever can land flush first.

I've always thought McClellan's power was over rated. I wouldn't put Norris in the same league either and neither were as good as Hearns. Only my opinion though.

It's obvious Hearns hit harder than Norris, but that doesn't take away from
Norris' power which the Hawk weathered without much issue. The only fighter to give him trouble with power prior to that was McCallum, also a big hitter.

I never really bought into McClellan's power being overrated, he put down many great fighters like it was nothing right out of the gate (he's about the only guy you could believe when he predicted first round KOs, which he almost delivered on even against Benn). Except for the Benn fight during which he was breaking down, he never went past eight in his entire career. I think he was able to dispose of Jackson so easily because he was hyper-aggressive, more so than Hearns certainly. Hearns wouldn't be able to go right at Jackson in that manner, so I don't think he would pose as much of a threat to Jackson. The speed advantage would easily be with Hearns, but like Barkley Jackson only has to wait for that one mistake to put him down.

i cannot see Jackson getting past Hearns incredible boxing skills and see him getting `bombed-out` within 2rds.. Jackson fought lots of Class C fighters and tomato cans he was soundly beaten by McCallum inside 2rds because he could not deal with McCallums boxing skills, Hearns would be aware of Jacksons punching power and go for the kill right from the opening bell, reach, speed & ability all lie with Hearns

He took out Mughabi in a single round, although granted he was a bit past it. He would have finished off Benn early as well if not for his condition. At the level he was at at the tail end of career I don't see many people surviving his onslaught, he had that rarest of combinations - lethal power and a granite chin.
