    Greatest Body Puncher

A thread was recently brought up in NSB about Sweet Pea being one of the best body punchers, thought I'd make a thread here to see who you guys think is.

Made a list of people who I think should be candidate for #1.

(Put the biggest names on the poll, not enough room for these )

    Ruben Olivares

    Carlos Palomino

I'd have to go with Chavez, although Barrera gets a strong nod. Just watched Barrera-McKinney today and Barrera landed some sickening body shots.

On that list, I'll say Chavez.

May actually go with Chavez, as I think he was more body-oriented in terms of using it as a primary tool than the Body Snatcher himself - McCallum largely went to the body to set up blistering head shots, leading off combinations with body blows to disorient and misdirect. McCallum probably could have been successful even had he decided to be a pure headhunter. Arguello was extremely underrated as a body puncher - Arguello-Tam is the best exhibition of body punching I've yet seen.

I have to go with Chavez. That guy was a killer to the body, always went to the body and wore you down later in the fight. I voted Chavez.

From that list Chavez or Frazier IMO

You could have also listed Joe Louis and Sugar Ray Robinson who were both tremendous body punchers. Sugar Ray had a cracking right hook to the body.

haha I'm glad you give Fraizer some respect!

I think Miguel Cotto should be on that list. I'd definitely think it's Chavez though.

Not as ATG body puncher but Tito Trinidad was a vicious body puncher with either hand. He was KOing ppl with a body shot. To bad later in his career he abandon that approach
