    Harry Greb

Harry Greb went 160-20-15 in almost 300 career fights. He fought 18 past, present or future champions including Gene Tunney, Tiger Flowers, Kid Norfolk, Mickey Walker, both Tommy and Mike Gibbons, Jim Slattery, Mike McTigue, Billy Miske, George Chip, Battling Levinsky, Tommy Loughran and many others, He fought many of these greats multiple times. He fought at least 13 hall of famers that I could see, maybe more. In all that time and in all those fights he was stopped only twice. Now this will be a very simple poll. Was his resume filled with a bunch of "stiffs", as one poster likes to so eloquently call them, or did he fight a top notch crop of fighters. Please cast your vote.

      just a question JAB....

you said Greb fought 13 HOF's

can you just list which HOF's you think were in their prime or not when Greb fought them......

Don't really see how anyone can argue against this.

Nearest I can tell with the quick research I put in is Flowers for the last two fights was probably past it. Mike Gibbons, Jimmy Slattery and Jack Dillon were on the cusp of being past it in at least one fight. Rosenbloom was still green when they fought, and Tunney, Walker, Delaney, Loughran, Norfolk, Tommy Gibbons, Mike McTigue, Levinski, Miske and for at least one fight Mike Gibbons were all close to or in their prime. Now this isn't thoroughly researched so I expect arguments can be made in the other direction, but its still an amazing list regardless.

Win over Tunney is definitely impressive, unfortunately all the footage of him is fairly terrible and not from fights.

Harry Greb, had he fought between the 50's and 80's, would be immortalized alongside Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson.

I've seen film of the lot and they were definitely great fighters in my opinion.

He beat 3 of Jack Dempsey's title challengers before Dempsey fought them yet was never given a shot at Dempsey himself.
