Was Muhammad Ali scared of George Forman?

What do you think? Was Muhammad Ali scared of George Forman?

Years after the fight Ali said he was "nervous" about fighting George Forman.

The reporters were also saying that he talked funny before that fight.

Muhammad Ali said he wondered what it "felt like" to get KO'd.He said he had been knocked down and hurt.He said he had had his jaw broken. But wondered what it felt like to get KO'd?

Saying he felt "nervous" before he fought Forman, was he saying he was scared? When asked if he ever felt "nervous" before any other fight,he said Sonny Liston.

He was about as scared of foreman as foreman was consistently fighting top ten rated contenders.......................So yes,he was petrified of foreman.

No he was not scared of Foreman he considered Foreman an easy fight he told reporters over and over again that Foreman was an easy fight and it proved just that on fight night.

Forman destroyed 2 top ten contenders in brutal fashion. Both whom beat Muhammad Ali.I would say those two top ten contenders must be very good.Wouldn't you agree?

In fact, that might be a good reason to be scared of George Forman?

I'm sorry, but that doesn't cancel out what has been an entire career's worth of cherry picking by foreman.

His record going into the frazier fight was 37-0 with only one name on his record worth speaking about.

foreman did the same thing in his comeback aswell.Only fighting top opposition if there was a title on the line.

Im sure Ali was scared of Foreman, but the fact that he still fought him says a lot about Ali

You can bet that he would have been pretty scared, its what gives a fighter his edge and why Ali was at fight weight 215Lbs weeks before the fight.

There is nothing wrong with a fighter admitting fear, these guys are the bravest of the brave for getting in the ring regardless. But its those who dont submit to fear (like Ali) who should be admired.

In 'When We Were Kings' Ali speaks about how Foreman went through Frazier and Norton 'Like he was God' and in some parts of that documentary he does give the impression that he had self doubt, not vocally but in body language and tone of voice 'whats everybody scared of, scared of what?'

He was definitely afraid of Foreman, but he psyched himself up with bravado.
