Im just curious what posters on here think of Fosters size in comparison to other fighters at 175. At 6'3" with a 79" wing span I'd have to say he was a very large lightheavy, though he appeared thin. Thoughts?

Was Bob Foster a big lightheavyweight?

Yes and no......
Like you said,he was tall with a long reach. But very thin.
BTW-How much did Fostor weigh? I mean, how much weight did he have to cut to get down to 175lbs?

I would imagine he walked around at a comfortable 190 or so. That is only a guess on my part though.

Bob Foster was actually a natural 175 pounds and struggled to put on any more weight than 180. That's part of why he was never successful as a heavyweight. The likes of Spinks, Moorer, recently Adamek were able to put on 30 pounds of weight, Foster never could. He had a lanky frame.
I wouldn't classify him as a big light heavyweight as in someone like Michael Moorer, who cut down from 200+ lbs, but he did tower over most of his opponents at 6'3½, near 80 inches in reach.

I would like to see a picture of Foster next to Ezzard Charles or Gene Tunney to get a better idea.
