I'd say top 15 to 20. He has a very good resume.

Think he'd count, but I don't buy into the whole he'd have definately beaten Dempsey scenario. Personally I think his legacy has done pretty well out of not fighting Dempsey as IMO he was made for Dempsey. So I'm kind of between two stools re Wills I think myself and Sonny broadly agree but I think he might be being a bit harsh but as Jabs says he did have a good resume. So yes an ATG HW but I wouldn't have him as high as say ***** on here would

Wills was a decade younger than Langford, McVea & Jennette he was also a natural heavyweight fighting welterweights & middleweights to say he is an ATG is a bit much IMO

Depends. Are Dempsey and Sam Langford ATG Heavyweights? If so, then yes Wills is. He was better than both. Resume doesn't lie.

And to suggest his resume primarily consists of Middleweights and Welterweights is absurd.

Langford vs Wills was like Shane Mosley vs David Haye today. Dempsey does not come into the equation, he was not obligated to fight Langford, Wills, McVea or Jeannette, Dempsey never himself personally drew-up "The color line" it was a sign of the times back then yet to personally hold-it against him so as to make Harry Wills out to be "the uncrowned champion" who everyone was running afraid of is ridiculous, we can only go by what film-footage of both is available and the best common opponent they both faced which was Jack Sharkey who battered Harry Wills from pillar-to-post giving him the worst beating of his career yet Dempsey when at the tail-end of his career fought a prime Sharkey and put on an awesome display of aggression brutally knocking out Sharkey in devastating fashion.
