There have been much bigger comparative purses, bigger fight attendances, bigger broadcast exposures, more live viewers, more punches landed. Some might say that Ali Frazier 3 was more entertaining. Ali vs Foreman and Ali vs Spinks 2 were big events featuring Ali too.

Tyson vs Spinks was enormous for example post 1971. Tyson vs Lewis was huge too.
Can you imagine how much bigger the 1st Ali-Frazier fight would have been if it had all the media they have today? Wow! And how much money the fighters would have been paid?

Surely Ross was his biggest fight, no?

            Dunno, SRR was quite good

Just being whisical really, depends on how your define their biggest fight really?
Best opponent, most money, title shot?
But your probably right with Ross, or possibly Ambers? Third title and all that?

Barrera - Morales I is another one...although I had Barrera winning fairly clearly. And it could be argued that his fight with Hamed was bigger.
Marquez - Pacquiao. The second fight was his biggest. It was his shot to show everyone how much better he was than Pacquiao off their first fight (which I actually have him fluctuating between losing by 1, drawing and winning by 1 based on round 2 which is the only close round in the fight). He lost another close one. His fight with Mayweather was his second biggest, and he lost that really convincingly, although there's the weight issue. Damn...
