He said on a Steve Bunce radio show recently 'how do you beat a guy like Mike McCallum' and said that he had sent his sons to America to train under McCallum...

I never heard anything about Toney but I always got the feeling that neither Benn or Eubank fancied their chances against Toney or McCallum. An important factor would be where the fight was held though. If it's in England the odds are a lot more even.

There's these rumours that Eubank sent his sons away to America but then the papers made a big thing of it and he called them back, saying it had all been blown out of proportion. However, they now live with his ex-wife while Chris lives in a hotel, alone in Brighton. When I met him I felt a bit sorry for him...which is a weird thing to say.

His best asset was his foot movement, particularly laterally - he could come in from angles, he could also take a man off-balance just with a few slick foot moves or less. With Toney it wasn't his feet, it was his slick counters off the rolling shoulder and body-head combinations.

          He never said that.

It would've been contradicting himself from his quotes in 1990.

a prime Toney that is 100% in shape would be tough for anyone to beat.

A Prime EUBANK that is 100% in shape would also be tough for anyone to beat.

Regarding McCallum, it was actually Benn who said something like 'Eubank can take my title but I'll never let McCallum take my body away' or a similar sentence.

Eubank vs Toney should have happened as much as Benn vs Jones but in this case,it almost did happen, only at Cruiser.

Chris was going to sign a contract to face Toney as he thought Toney had faded and would not be that strong at Cruiserweight. Unfortunately,James decided to move up to Heavyweight so the fight never happened.

Damn shame as it would have been the ultimate chess match with Chris doing a poor man's Jones, staying on the outside flicking the jab, with Toney attempting to cut the ring down and land combo's.

In reality no matter where the fight was being held it would have been a 50/50 fight but with the home town fighter getting the win on points.

Toney would make him miss a lot. Eubank would try and make in to a war but one too many clean counter rights and Toney scores a few knockdowns and wins a wide decision on the cards.
