i would say so.ive only seen 2 fights of olivares, but he didnt seem anything special.i like foster, but he had the bum of the month club, kid choc is 1 of the few older fighters i like but he's not better than floyd, they both fought at lightweight and i couldnt see choc winning, lamotta is a bum and aint no getting around that, dont know enough about jofre.your list is to long.if floyds not higher now,he will be by the time he hangs em up.if he were to beat pac,and martinez then retire,he should be top 10 mininum

hes better than all of em....reason being he did it in different weight classes....look at foster he couldnt even beat guys at 180-190...plus hes completely outclassing his opponents....

I'd rate Holmes higher in ATG terms and would say that Floyd may be at a similar level but possibly a touch higher than Foster, Griffith and Olivares. Right now I would have him higher than the rest of the listed fighters.

My reason for Holmes is that I think his jab is even better than Floyd's and I think his combination work was better. Plus Holmes mixed in world class for the best part of 18 years and never cherry picked.

But dont get me wrong.............there are a lot of fighters I do rate higher than Floyd in ATG terms, but he is well on his way to legendary status regardless.

Mayweather is a master boxer man. He's got it taped. Last night while watching him totally outclass a very good fighter it dawned on me that he doesn't actually have a weakness. Him bullying Mosley on the inside was great for his legacy. His chin is still questionable...but he's never been down so we can't hold that against him.

If Floyd beats Pacquiao and retires undefeated then you have the perfect legacy. A win over Pacquiao is important for Floyd if he wants to be compared to the very best of all time.

But then again, how the hell can you compare Jake Lamotta to Floyd Mayweather?. Lamotta fought Sugar Ray Robinson what, 6 times? Imagine Mayweather fighting Pacquiao 6 times.

Right now I'm comparing Floyd to guys like Roy Jones and Pernell Whitaker. I think he's on a par with them right now. If he beats Pacquiao, he moves ahead of both those guys. But comparing him to old fighters like LaMotta is pretty pointless.

That could be disputed. He never fought Pinklon Thomas,Greg Page,Gerrie Coetzee,Michael Dokes and John Tate.
