I have just checked my notes, and I seem to have counted Johnny McCoy twice, so his total comes to only 10 (which I have now edited in my clue):

    Joe Lynch
    Johnny McCoy
    Bud Taylor
    Johnny Buff
    Sammy Mandell
    Jack (kid) Wolfe
    Eugene Criqui
    Pete Herman
    Jimmy Wilde
    Kid Williams

Anyway, we now have correct answers to all the questions... and, needless to say, you did a great job. As always! Thanks also to DeepSleep, BattlingNelson and trevahhh for participating.
    Thank you for the quiz!

I thought you might be talking about Johnny Ertle as the 11th Champion. He beat Kid Williams by a DQ and Moore claimed the title BUT BoxRec don't recognize him as such.

Moore was nominated for International Boxing Hall of Fame in the Old-Timers division this year but didn't get enough votes to be elected. We had to pick as many as 10, of which they selected the top 3. Moore was one of my top 10 but Young Corbett II, Rocky Kansas and Billy Miske came out with more votes. I also voted for them as well.

It also seems like I can't count to good either. When I was researching to see who should go into the Hall, I had Moore down for beating 10 different Champions. I just forgot about it until I came out with his name.

    Again, GREAT Quiz!

      Thanks, Henry.

As you might have guessed by now, I'm a big fan of boxing trivia. I think it's great fun not just to solve tricky questions - but also to try and think up some interesting brain-teasers.

Speaking of Moore, I believe he and Johnny Risko are the only non-HOFers, who hold wins over 7 HOFers... and why they are not both already in the Hall, I find difficult to understand. Moore's record is really something: stopped only once in 256 bouts... and that was because he had to retire with a broken arm. Amazing!

Well, there is always next year. I just got back from the NJ Golden Gloves and I was asked to introduce Gerry Cooney. It was the 4th time since January that I have done so. Now, if I am not ring announcing, he tells the people that he wants me to introduce him.

This past Tuesday, I went to Newark and met & talked to Larry Holmes, Joe Frazier, Buster Douglas and Michael Spinks. It's not every day that you can talk to 4 former World Heavyweight Champions.
