    Rubin "Hurricane" Carter

He should have been champ, but was robbed against Joey Giardello because he was black.

    Watch the movie "The Hurricane"

Yeh i've seen it its a brilliant movie so is the soundtrack to it. Hurricane - Bob Dylan
" Ruben could take a man out with just one punch, but he never did like to talk about it all that much"
I think he had some record for knocking people out. I mean he knocked out Emile Griffith in the first round, and Griffith only got stopped twice in 112 fights.

Italian Stallion, maybe you should do a little more research and a little less watching MOVIES. Joey ,IN REAL LIFE, won the fight going away. He even sued the producers of the movie for falsely representing the fight as depicted in the movie. If Rubin wasn't a convict, you wouldn't know who he was today. A lot of hype.
Obviously not the ten point must system, but the scores were 72-66, 69-64, 70-67.

That's the problem with movies that depict real life events. They very rarely are anywhere close to the truth. The movie "Thirteen Days" dealiing with the cuban missle crisis was grossly inaccurate. Why? Didn't the cuban missle crisis have enough drama and tension without embellishing?

Carter kind of an extremist now, he was on Friday Night Fights and he was acting like a he has a few screw loose in his head.

Foreman's right. I remember Bert Sugar talking abut this one time. He said that Carter only won about 4 rounds and was beating badly. He said that anyone who saw the real fight knew that there wasn't a controvery. This was just to make the movie better

                - -Never could figure why people could prop up a violent thug.

That said, the state obviously mishandled the case and deserved some time in the clink as well.

Your correct , I remember the late great Burt Randolph Sugar,
Saying he was ringside for the fight and he was quoted saying
“ Giardello beat Carter Pillar to post that night , it wasn’t even close.
Also Burt said he was ringside when Cain fought Abel .
                  Another classic from Burt

Beyond the movie, I don't know much about Carter and if it wasn't for the movie, I doubt he would have had this much recognition.
