Boxers who never did weights/pushups?

    I think most of the old school fighters did calisthenics, to some degree.

    But from what I have seen? I think Ali did mainly core work, but he did chop some wood for certain fights.

    I am not sure whether he did any push ups specifically.

      - -C'mon, Ali would've done push-ups in HS gym class, and as a boxer would be messing with the weight-pulley system that goes back to the early 1900s.

      John L was the first recorded fighter of note to use weights, specifically for the Kilrain bare knuckles title. JJ Corbett used them, but modern weightlifting didn't become a regular part of boxing until the 80s along with the steroids.

        It was a known fact that Muhammd Ali was lazy trainer, well known fact 'He trained to the perceived ability or threat of his opponents' even vs Foreman Larry Holmes stated he maybe could of trained harder, in the legends documentary.
