Ferdie Pacheco the worst commintator ever?

Pachecco had some good moments mainly earler on network tv, but during his stint at Showtime he and Czyz definately gave us "C-" commentary on a B+ network

He once compared Trinidad to Sugar Ray Robinson, that's how biased he was

That guy really annoys me, when ever i watch an old fight his commentary is possibly the most annoying, he has a terrible voice is always biased he completely ruins a lot of old fights. I remember he always used to rip into Frank Bruno and he kept calling Pernell Whitaker pee wee.

I know he cant score a fight objectively if its a fighter he is riding the balls of.

He actually had Chavez beating Randall and thought Whitaker was slightly ahead of Chavez, despite the fact that Whitaker was schooling him the entire night. He told Chavez after he beat a washed up taylor the 2nd time that he was still the best

That was pushing it but everybody kinda good gets compared to Sugar Ray, because he was the measuring tool. Like everybody in basketball is compared to Michael Jordon ie.. he's the next...

Yeah that really pissed me off he sounded really bitter to Joe the way he called him ******.

Doesn't sound bitter to me and wasn't really lying when discussing Joe Frazier either really.Pacheco may have been a terrible commentator(in your opinion and not mine)but atleast he doesn't beat up women.

i find Lampley quite good, Pacheco is terrible, the greatest was Don Dumphy & Howard Cosell

I agree with this whole heartedly. Neither Cosell or Dunphy needed an entire team around them to describe the action with clear concise intelligence as well as an unbiased outlook.

The thing with Cosell was he usually worked alone: Just him and a microphone provided both the blow-by-blow and the color commentary

Arthur Mercante did the color for the Holmes-Norton fight, one of the few times Cosell didn't work by himself. Mercante was tremendous in his analysis of the fight, and you could hear the respect and admiration Cosell had for Arthur as he spoke. had Mercante become a full time color commentator, he would have been among the best. Not like the shills that have been dirtying the airwaves since I was a kid.
