No they weren't, that was just their only option when it came to boxing-related activities, if that was my only option today you can bet I'd be out there fighting with bare knuckles. But if gloves were never invented, boxing would never have been accepted legally, so it's a good thing they became used.
I think it hurts more to hit someone bare knuckled than to be hit. I broke hand bones in my youth but never broke a bone getting hit.
I think it is not the best way to settle disputes. If it has to be done meet at the gym and get some time in the ring together. But hopefully better minds would prevail.

Well, naturally of course. Meeting at a gym might be out of the way? Unless if was someone you knew obviously. But i'm talkin about a good old fashion bare knuckle boxing street fight.
It's better to go to the body anyways. That solves the hands hurting problem.
gypsy bare knuckle boxing is still relativley common in ireland. Those ****s are not to be ****ed with. (its not bare knuckle though, they have wraps on, just no gloves so the fighters dont break their hands easily and the fight can continue until there is a winner)

Yeah, i know. They're crazy. I guess because it's "New Age", they have to change with the times. Some fighters wrap one hand, others wear tape, or canvas gloves. I think it depends on what they fighters agree apoun, cus if you're gonna wrap both fists, you might as well put on gloves.
