Did Chuvalo get knocked down? Was it more of a push than a punch? Here's the footage:

I'd say it was more of a push. There were punches landed before, but Chuvalo was moving forward stumbled a bit on his legs and Bonavena threw out the arms and pushed Chuvalo back.

The punches along with the push had Chuvalo touch the canvas but I wouldn't say this should tarnish Chuvalo's record of having never been knocked down.

In part 2 though, looked like the ropes kept him up. But he did seem to stumble over his own legs again.

Chuvalo seemed to take harder punches in the fight than that but he unquestionably touched the canvas once and had the ropes keep him up another time when punched/pushed.

Chuvalo & Bonavena are both in tremendous physical condition.. i think it was a slip but Oscar acted like he had hurt Chuvalo

he got hit with a good punch but when he threw a punch he lunged at oscar which put him of balance, and caused him to lose his footing for a split second but he did not hit the canvas he landed on the bottom rope, which is not by any means or in any shape or form even close to being a knockdown
