Jerry Quarry, Gerry Cooney, and Duane Bobick etc who was the best boxer who came under that insulting term "great white hope" back in the day and was it a fair description of the state of boxing during that era?
Were any of the great white hopes ever comparable with the top boxers today. Were they just in the most competitive era there has ever been?
I say Quarry was the best of that era in the seventies.
