Are todays heavyweights (Joshua, Dubious, Joyzce. Zhang, Fury etc) slower punchers than the 70s and 80s fighters?

If a peak holyfield coming out of cruiser had come on in the Wlad era and wasn't a typical fighter of the time would dominate. Haye came with alot of hype but ran the whole time, a better boxer like Holyfield would have done much much better. I remember one of Dundees final interviews, he predicted one day the pint sized heavyweights will come back and these giants will disappear. Maybe not pint sized as in Marciano, Tyson, but like the Usyk type.
    - - Field has a 26-10-2 record as Hvywt. He was never fast, never powerful, but could take a punch and persevere here and there with his Vitamins.

AJ one of the most athletic fighters ever as were the Ks. His problem is he has no HOF type trainers to bring him up properly and has had to learn on the fly while earing 100s of million$.

As I say, timing beats speed every day and twice on Sundays.

Lol, blame AJ's problems on the trainers.....BRILLIANT!! You know he could have switched trainers, and eventually did. So who's fault is that?

And while you are trying to degrade Holyfields heavyweight record, why don't you provide some context. Like most of his losses cam after being a professional for 17 years and longer. His earlier losses to Bowe, an undefeated Moorer (avenged) and Lennox Lewis. No shame in that. The man challenged himself to be great and more time than not he accomplished it. He wi always rank higher than AJ or either Klitschko, the elder of the two who wouldnt even rematch Chris Byrd who took the fight on 10 days notice.

You are so kind Ginny... You not only make excuses for your own innane conclusions but do so for Joshua as well. Of course it is the gin... the trainer... otherwise your posts would be logical and Joshua would be the next Ali... It all makes no sense now, I mean sense... sort of. Geez, I feel like my IQ drops just responding to your posts Ginny...

          - - AJ is the antithesis of Ali. Little Sonny Banks ain't knocking him down, and little Henry Cooper ain't knocking him out, and little Doug Jones ain't mauling him, but interestingly enough, possibly Joe Frazier of the 1st Ali fight could give him problems, but wouldn't beat him up like he did to Ali.

Norton ain't got a chance, nor little Jimmy Young, nor toofless Leon though they could all beat U up, but that's a pitiful digression...

Your entitled to your opinion... As silly and ridiculous as it may be. I can just imagine people saying similar things about Bruno... How he would beat up little Mike Tyson and tame Terrible Tim Witherspoon, and Bruno was better than Joshua... And we all know how Bruno did lol. He gave a good fight and lost... Just like Joshua does. Lost when he stepped up, like Joshua... But I am sure you have some conspiracy theory about these events Ginny, you never dissapoint!

I agree he is the "antithesis." Ali found a way to win his fights... When he fought up he came through... That is partially why we give him some latitude against less than stellar comp. AJ has never found a way to "win" and a lot of those fighters you mention were much tougher opponents, so one has to wonder how AJ would do.

Joyce punches kind of unbelievably slow.

Then again, when I was a kid I loved to watch George Foreman because he punched really super slow, sometimes.

I hear there's a punch that was thrown by Carnera during his prime in the 30s and moves so slowly it's still yet to land; the fist not yet discontinuing the motion.
