Just this second finished watching Mayweather vs Burton, brilliant fight. Burton brings his A game on this occasion and makes Floyd work for the win, for his part Mayweather shows incredible skill, a glimpse of his toughness too as he takes more shots than usual coming off his first real lay off and with his nose bust and hand damaged ends the fight with about 5 or 6 lefts to body and head

Ted Kid Lewis vs Johnny Basham
London 1920
The Happy Warrior Basham trying to reclaim the belt Lewis took from him in their previous bout came to fight full of confidence, even betting ?000 on himself
Lewis ended it in the 19th with a vicious left hand to the jaw

Joe Louis vs Max Shmeling
1938 Yankee Stadium
Louis was Ruthless and clinical in this one, i could watch it over and over....
Watched alot of build up to it first including clips of Schmeling sparring/ having an exhibition with Jack Dempsey, something that i hadnt seen before

Prenice Brewer vs Chris Fernandez
Round 1 Prenice Brewer
Prenice Brewer scored with the jab early and let
his combos go he did lay inside too much mid
round but landed the cleaner punches imo
Round 2 Prenice Brewer
Scrappy round early but Brewer managed to land
counters down the stretch although he did get
wobbled by a right hand toward the end of
the round
Round 3 Prenice Brewer
Landed the effective counter punches from range
although he did lay inside a bit too much early on
Rouns 4 Prenice Brewer
Prenice Brewer let his hands go in fast combination
as was more active this round
Round 5 Prenice Brewer
Prenice Brewer when back to using the jab and keeping it
long as he countered effectively from the outside, that
said he did lay inside a bit toward the end of the round
but still took it imo
Round 6 Prenice Brewer
You could of given Fernandez a share of the 2 round because
he did hurt Brewer.
Brewer showed a good jab, good countering skills, fast hands and an ability to fight inside, negatives are
that he fought inside too much instead of utilizing his height and reach and got
caught from time to time with the left hook, good defense but a bit leaky a times
as he drops his hands sometimes or throws the uppercut from outside.
Above all needs to stop languishing on the inside so much and stick to
using his legs & jab.

Sechew Powell vs Latimore
Round 1 Sechew Powell
Fairly close round with Powell landing the cleaner
punches but Latimore the busier guy
Round 2 Latimore
I felt Latimore just edged the round on his consistency
Round 3 Sechew Powell
Powell did a better job of countering Latimore's aggression,
he seemed to use more of the ring this round to
Round 4 Latimore
Tough round to score because Powell landed
hard clean punches on Powell early but Latimore came
back and hurt Powell imo.
Round 5 Powell
Better round for Powell as Latimore let him get off first and
did not apply enough pressure and got countered on the way
in
Round 6 Powell
Latimore is not putting enough pressure on imo and getting
picked off with jabs and letting Powell dictate the pace, although
Latimore put more pressure on toward the end
Round 7 Powell
Arguably Powell's best round as Latimore
came in and got picked off as he come in, he is not using the
jab and trying to walk in and not applying enough
pressure
Round 8 Powell
Powell making Latimore miss and countering
Round 9 Powell
Latimore being made to miss eating jabs and counters
on the way in
Round 10 Powell
Latimore completely outboxed this round as Powell
dictated with the jab that has been snapping his
head back the whole fight, he also went to Powell's body
in the last round and followed that up in this round
by going back downstairs, Latimore looks to have tired
Round 11 Latimore
Latimore hurt Powell twice in this round imo
Round 12 Powell
Thought Latimore knowing he was behind would come out fast
but he let Powell get off with jab use his legs and dictate
the action as he (Latimore) came foward methodically and eat
jabs, toward the end Latimore put more pressure on but he
did not land significantly enough to take the round imo.
Latimore did not use the jab enough to get inside, his defense let him
down when he did try to apply pressure, he eat the jab of Powell
all night long and the pressure he did put on was not enough as he would allow
Powell to get off first and move. Powell deserved to win as he fought to a plan and
looked switched on throughout the fight, he had the eye of tiger in this fight and you
could see the focus in the way he fought. Powell scored well with the jab throughout
and used his legs and these tight little turns to slip and roll away from the wide shots
of Latimore, who coincidentally hardly went to the body when he needed to with a guy
with such upperbodymovement, Powell does have a good defense but he does drop
his left hand when out of range, he also got hurt a few times in this fight and
looked to hold on a couple of times, that said he fought to a plan and his focus and
superior defense, ring generalship was enough to see off the more crude Latimore.
WBC 108 TITLE. FEBRUARY 6, 1982
For two years, Zapata dominated the 108 pound division with slick movement, radar like defense, and sharp counterpunching. He was a slick southpaw, comparable to Pernell Whitaker or Ivan Calderon. In the Ursua fight, he changed his style completely. In round 1, he jumped on Ursua, landing one power punch after another. In the second round, Zapata continued his aggression until he was knocked down by a ripping combination by Ursua. Ursua jumped on Zapata, only to be rocked and dropped by a sizzling Zapata right hook. A tremendous classic round that came to an end when Zapata walked into a most vicious left hook, ending his reign as the best 108 pound fighter on the planet. A 2nd round, shocking kayo by Ursua.

Bernando Pinango vs Simon Skosuna
A tremendous war. Round 7 was a brutal round. A fight in which both men took ridiculous amount of punishment. A very close fight going into the 15th and final round, a round in which Pinango battered Skosuna from pillar to post. With less than 15 seconds left, Pinango finally put Skosuna away and retained his WBA title. A must see fight!!!!!!!
